The Creole Poodle Club of New Orleans, Inc. is a not for profit organization that was established in 1956. It was started by a group of poodle enthusiasts who wanted to promote the breed. Most of our original members were involved in showing dogs, but as time has passed the Club has grown to include rescue and public education activities. We rely totally on volunteers who foster the dogs in their homes throughout mostly southeast Louisiana. We rescue poodles and poodle mixes from kill shelters that were either owner surrendered or found as strays. We try to match the home with the personality of the dog. Our volunteers also do vet reference checks and home visits before the dog is placed. We are responsible for making sure the dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD on all shots, given a heart worm test and are started on heart worm prevention, before they go to their new homes. We are currently on Facebook and Petfinder and are working on our own web page. You can also reach us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to hearing from you.
